The Minister of Health has defended this Wednesday that the regulations that are governed are the decree of the state of alarm. The perimeter closure of the San José bridge and Easter Week have been agreed with the only vote against Madrid.
The Community of Madrid will not close at Easter but will apply the decisions it deems “appropriate” on the perimeter closure at Easter. This was stated this Wednesday by the Minister of Health, Enrique Ruiz Escudero, at a press conference held after the meeting of the Interterritorial Council, which has agreed to the confinement of all communities and the curfew at 10 p.m. on the bridge of San José and at Easter.
The head of Health has stressed that the decree of the state of alarm “makes it very clear” that the regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, is competent to adopt the measures . And Madrid, he added, has this standard as a reference when it comes to managing the pandemic at the moment.
Citizens will not be able to travel from one autonomous community to another this Easter. The Ministry of Health and the communities have agreed on Thursday to close the perimeter in each of them between March 26 and April 9, as well as a curfew between 10 and 6 hours.
The agreement has been by majority but there has been no unanimity, because the Community of Madrid has voted against.

“The legislation today, for which we do not govern, is through the Royal Decree of the state of alarm where it makes it very clear what the powers are when making decisions, ” said Ruiz Escudero, whom they have accompanied the Deputy Minister of Public Health, Antonio Zapatero, and the General Director of Public Health, Elena Andradas.
“Who has the competence in this case is the president of the Community” , has reiterated Ruiz Escudero, who has said that in this framework the Community will apply the decisions it deems “appropriate”. The Minister of Health has advanced that he is committed to continuing with his measures.
Regarding Madrid’s position, the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, has limited herself to saying that we must comply with what was agreed in the Interterritorial : “Madrid has voted against the agreement. However, it will be a communicated order, of compliance with current legislation. It is mandatory “.
